Welcome to The Transcendentalist…my ruminations on the continuing journey. Here in New Mexico and elsewhere.
Reflections on the first phase of my retirement journey, in a beautiful place on the bank of the Rio Grande in northern New Mexico, from epiphany to unanticipated resolution.
These travelogs tell of fascination and fun in interesting places, some far flung, some close to home. Spain, Colombia, the Texas Big Bend, back roads of New Mexico, and other places I’m privileged to know.
In a long academic career, I studied motivation and performance of frontline sales and service organizations and how consumers process advertising messages. As of 2023, according to Google Scholar, these articles have been cited over 20,000 times by other authors. I include these here because they too are part of me and where I come from. I left this line of work in 2017 - to become the transcendentalist.
First up is an album, “Keep on Moving Forward,” twelve original songs ranging from folk to rock and country, recorded with a hot band in Santa Fe in 2022. Next is “Moonlight Vision,” recorded in Houston in 2016. Then come a few old videos, recorded at a cd release in Houston, also in 2016.
Verse writings, mostly song lyrics, with a great range of subject matter and inspirations. Reaching toward transcendence from a mundane, down-home place, with themes, schemes, and angel dreams from all along this sweet, rugged, mystical path.
